Sonia Brown is the Director of UK Regulatory Policy and Public Affairs at Visa Europe, and a member of the Visa Europe Legal and Regulatory Leadership Team.
Prior to joining Visa Europe late in 2015, Sonia was a board member and Chief Regulation Officer for the water regulator (Ofwat) where she successfully led the most recent pricing reset (worth in excess of £46bn). Before joining Ofwat, Sonia worked as the health care regulator (Monitor) Chief Economist. At Monitor, Sonia was responsible for developing policy to set up the first economic regulator for health care in England.
Sonia started her career at the energy regulator, (Ofgem) where she held a number of senior positions including Director of Gas Network Sales and Director of European Strategy and the Environment
