Simon is a sustainable development project manager and researcher with over 10 years’ experience, primarily in Southeast and East Asia. Since joining London Councils in April 2020 he has been contributing to their work on climate change, green infrastructure, and transport infrastructure.
Previous to this he spent almost a decade at the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) in Japan, working across a variety of issues in urban sustainability in both policy and project implementation. From 2016 – 2020 he was as a member of the coordination desk for the Sustainable Lifestyles and Education Programme of the UN led One Planet Network dedicated to implementing Sustainable Development Goal 12, where he was investigating the relationship between well-being and ecological limits, both through research and project implementation. Prior to this, he received his MA in Development Studies from the University of East Anglia and have worked in a variety of fields both in China and the UK, including business intelligence and education.
