Rachel embarked on her journey in the field of environmental sustainability after graduating with a Human Geography and Environment degree from the University of York in 2019.

Today, Rachel proudly serves in a pivotal role at Hackney Council, where she spearheads innovative recycling initiatives. Notably, Hackney Council’s groundbreaking Flats Above Shops (FLASH) Food Waste Trial has become a trailblazer in the realm of environmental solutions. This pioneering effort not only aligns with Defra requirements but also champions waste reduction, heightened recycling rates, and transformative shifts in resident behaviour.
