Oriana Romano leads the OECD programme on circular economy in cities and regions, at the OECD Centre for Entrepreneurship, SMEs, regions and cities. She initiated the programme in 2018 and set up the OECD roundtable on circular economy in cities and regions, a networking platform for stakeholders from the public, private and non-for profit sectors. She also heads the OECD water governance programme.
Before joining the OECD in 2013, she was research assistant and university lecturer in environmental economics at the Centre for International Business and Sustainability(CIBS), London Metropolitan University and the Department of Social Science of the University L’Orientale(Naples, Italy). She holds a Ph.D in Institution, Economics and Law of Public Services.
