Crawford is a chartered architect and Head of Architecture and Design at the Department For Education. He leads a multi disciplinary team responsible for construction and design standards for all new and refurbished schools and colleges in England. With 15 years experience in school design and 30 years in public sector delivery Crawford is committed to user centred solutions that engage with clients to deliver value for money and the DfE has the largest public sector post occupancy evaluation programme to support better schools. Crawford developed and led a UKRI supported R&D project (GenZero) to create a prototype offsite construction platform for new school buildings which is totally zero carbon.
