Cllr Deirdre Costigan is acting chair of London Council’s Transport and Environment Committee. She is deputy Leader of Ealing Council and the council’s first ever Cabinet Member for Climate Action where she has focused on doubling the number of electric vehicle charging points in a year, slashing the cost of cycle parking permits to the cheapest in London, testing innovative approaches to retrofitting and investing in new bike lanes, sustainable drainage and urban greening. Deirdre is also chair of West London Waste Authority where she is helping to prioritise re-use and waste minimisation through putting circular economy principles into practice.
