London and the Circular Economy: the role of Higher Education (workshop 2)

This is the second workshop on how the Higher Education sector in London is well placed to support the London’s circular city ambitions.

This is the second in a series of workshops designed to bring London’s higher education sector together to leverage the capacity of the sector in supporting London’s transition to a circular city. Supported by both the Ellen MacArthur Foundation and the London Waste and Recycling Board, this workshop will invite discussion on a variety of ways in which the sector can work towards this goal.

The focus of this online workshop will be to engage in a lively discussion on proposed projects which could include activities such as:

  • zero waste campus
  • circular canteens
  • mapping London’s circular economy activity – how to leverage the research capabilities of students
  • joint procurement activities to support a more circular supply chain
  • including more circular economy in curricula, understanding the interdisciplinary nature of circular economy

and more……..

Participants will also be able to hear circular economy updates from a few attending Universities. As we are covering a range of discussion topics, we would ideally have representatives from academia, sustainability / campus management and a lead student from each attending organisation.

Registered participants will be sent the Zoom invite link by 2 June 2020.

Date: 3 June 2020

Time: 14:00 – 16:00 (BST)
