The Circular Economy continues to gain interest at a political and industrial level and the legislative environment is adapting. The amendments to directives covering waste, landfill, packaging, end-of-life vehicles, batteries and accumulators, and WEEE (all falling under the EU’s circular economy package) have been designed to create a legal landscape that incentivises businesses to act in a ‘circular’ way. Questions are now being asked about how best to harness the opportunities of the new legislative environment. Ashurst LLP and Oakdene Hollins are jointly hosting a workshop where we will present an overview of the new landscape, circular economy developments and will discuss examples of where circular business initiatives have been successfully employed.
As part of the London Circular Economy Week 2019, the 90-minute workshop is designed for business leaders, policy and decision makers. We will provide an overview of the current key regulatory changes and an insight into how businesses have, and are, continuing to adapt to the opportunities and risks they may face.
Workshop attendees will receive, and be talked through, a free checklist designed to aid businesses in identifying opportunities to adapt. By the end of the workshop, we hope that you will better understand how to take advantage of the new legislative environment and will be aware of areas where you may need to modify practices to fall within the new legislative framework.
