Circular construction – The Circular City Hack
The Circular City Hack is the first in a series of hackathons exploring solutions to circular construction challenges.
For this online ideation session, a team of circular economy experts, designers and makers will meet in a virtual makerspace to experiment in a guided idea-generating session culminating in pitches for projects to be made real.
Apply here to join one of three teams:
The Urban mining team will invent creative ways of dismantling buildings, re-using and recycling materials.
The Transformation team will explore extending a building’s life through sustainable and adaptive reuse and refurbishment.
And the Flexible design team will ideate designs for disassembly and flexible construction on an industrial scale.
When you book a ticket you will be asked:
– What is your interest and/ or experience in circular economy?
– Why would you like to join this team?
Applications must be submitted by Sunday 31 May. Successful applicants will receive confirmation by 12 pm GMT on Monday 1st June.
Participants will need to attend the CIRCuIT #CEweekLDN2020 event in the morning to become familiar with the project and gain further insight into circular construction ahead of this event. You can register for this event here (choose Circular Construction event)
Participants will need access to a computer that can run with Zoom and Miro (a virtual hackathon space accessed through a web browser).
